Additional types of travel insurance

Medical Insurance

This is something you should talk to your current agent about, especially if you’re going out of the country. Most policies should cover you within the continental US but to make sure you’ll want to ask about that as well.

Trip protection

There are a few different types of trip protection: cancellation coverage, delay coverage and trip interruption.

Cancellation coverage covers you if you have to cancel your trip for sickness or death.

Delay is for just that, covers you if their are delays (like for hurricanes, storms, snow etc.).

Interupption covers you for things like weather, illness, or if you get sich while on your trip.

When you buy coverage you’ll of course want to shop around so that you get the most for your money. Make sure that you read the policy to make sure their isn’t unexpected deductibles or loopholes.
