This week we want to continue our series on saving money on your wedding.

Some ideas on where to hold your reception

It may be cheaper to combine costs when thinking about where to hold the wedding and the reception.

Here are some ideas for a reception (many for free).

1. At your home (or your parents home). One thing with this option you’ll need to think about tables and chairs for your guests. One thing you could consider doing is borrowing them from your local church.

2. At a state park or city park. This could be available at little or no cost. Also if you have the reception near a picnic shelter you won’t have to worry about chairs. You will need to find out the procedure for reserving your spot… it would be bad if you went to the park and didn’t have a place to sit.

3. Our library allows you to have a reception for almost nothing (you only need to pay a small cleaning fee), this is another option.

4. Outside anywhere… again this is limited only by your imagination.
