Saving Money on a Hotel Room - 4 Easy Ways to do it.

Below are some easy ways to save money on a Hotel Room - we used a couple of these techniques last weekend to save about $20 bucks.

1. When you sign into the hotel room, many times they will add some charges that you may not be aware of. A couple of examples are a room safe and a newspaper. They may add other things as well. You will also want to stay away from bar (both the snack bar / motel bar - unless you want to pay a 5 bucks for snacks).

2. Get a room that has a fridge. Visit a local gas station / convenient mart (or better yet a big box store like a target or wal-mart). Stock up on snacks and drinks and put them in the fridge of the hotel.

3. When getting a hotel do some research online - use travel sites, then use the hotel chains site. Make a note of the prices. Do this for several hotels within the general vicinity. Then call the hotel - ask them the rates - ask them if they offer any discounts. If they are the cheapest hotel on the list, make a note of that, if not tell them you can get a hotel from xyz company and they may go lower. It does take a little time to do this but you can save some money.

4. Many times AAA or using a specific credit card at a certain chain will save you some money. Make sure that you take that into account.

Enjoy your day!
