The first part of our article on Mall of America can be found here
Fortunately we had some relatives that enjoyed our company (and we enjoy theirs) that was about half way. We then decided that we would take about 12 days or so for our trip. We selected some dates. We figured that we would travel to their house, spend a few days, then travel to the Mall of America spend a few days there and then head back to the relatives house for a few days before heading home. We called them to make sure that it would be ok, and they asked if we could stay longer with them.
Our next stop was hotels.com which gives an excellent overview of hotels in a particular area. They also give an excellent overview of pricing as well as amenities that the hotels offered.
We jotted down prices of the hotels we were interested in. We had some points that we wanted to spend from AMEX, so we checked the AMEX travel site. Rates were pretty close and if we spent the points it would actually be a pretty good deal. We of course followed our own advice and checked out the hotel chains website as well as called the hotel directly to find out the costs of a hotel reservation for three nights. The American express travel site was still the winner so we chose them.
We’ll continue our adventures on Tuesday.
