Getting Ready for Christmas – Buying your presents for less

Hope you are all doing well.

If you’ve been hit hard by loosing your job or facing cutbacks, hopefully this series will help you out a bit. What we’re going to try and do is get all of your Christmas shopping done this year for at least half of what you spent last year. You heard me right, at least for half of what you spent last year. We’re starting now because many deals come out before the holiday season.

What we’ll be doing is creating a budget – deciding what we’re going to spend on each gift (or how much we’re going to spend on each person), and then we’ll be shopping and sending you deals we find. Hopefully by the end of our series we’ll have bought all of our gifts.

One note I already have done 90% of my shopping – but we’ll ‘pretend’ to do it with you. Hopefully we’ll save you some money. One note a cheap gift doesn’t mean a cheap gift. We buy unique gifts we think our family members will enjoy, but we pay less for them… so they aren’t cheap… they’re low priced.  They won’t know how much you’ve spent on them anyway.

The first thing you’ll want to do is figure out what your total budget for this year is going to be. Don’t think about who you’ll be buying for, just think of your total budget.

I recommend you spend half of what you did last year. I know you’re thinking you won’t be able to do it… but I bet if you set your mind to it you can.

My budget will be $200.00 – I can do it. Next time we’ll talk about creating your Christmas list – should be later this week.
