++ News -

The good news is that crude oil prices continue to fall which has been caused mostly from a lack of demand. As the U.S. economy slows businesses (and regular folks like you and me) use less gas. Also the experts say that Hurricane Gustav should have caused a spike in prices, but it didn’t. Of course there is still Ike and Josephine to deal with. The projected path for Ike takes it into the gulf coast region. Josephine has weakened to a low.

++ The Oil Industry - Domestic Supply

Last week we talked about the countries we import oil from - this week we’re going to talk about how much oil we get domestically and where that oil comes from.

Around 40% of the oil we use comes from our own production. A complete breakdown of oil produced from each state can be found here.

Most of the oil comes from Texas, Alaska, California, and off shore.

Saving you Money

Here is a method I’ve used for a while and I’m sure if you do it then it’ll help you as well.

1. I was wanting to get an electric razor - the first thing I did was to check Amazon. The reason I do this is because of the reviews. I found a razor that had some good reviews and noted the price. Don’t forget especially on the internet to include the shipping and any taxes.
2. Next thing I do is to do some price comparisons - there are many of these online but the one I like the best is price grabber. http://www.pricegrabber.com/ Note the site with the best offer. Make sure to note the reviews for the sellers.
3. Next call around town to your local stores you will have to include taxes but you won’t have to include shipping.
Once you’ve found the lowest price, then look for some coupons from the post we made earlier this week (Here’s that post ). You may be surprised what you can find.

We hope you have a wonderful Saturday.
