Free MMORPG - Fun with the Family

One thing when having fun with the family is to try and make it fun for everyone. This will be a whole lot of fun for your older kids but you may find out that you’re having a lot of fun as well. MMORPG’s are video games online in which you participate with hundreds (or even thousands) of other folks on the web. Most of the games are in a fantasy setting and one of the great things about them is you can get many of them for free. You just download the game, set up a couple of accounts for the family and you can play while others in your family are playing as well.

Having fun this labor day weekend

One thing you can do this weekend and it takes almost no money and it will give you something to do during the whole weekend (if you want to).

1. Get some poker chips and decide what the $ value of each is going to be. $1 - $5 - $10.
2. Each person then writes down on a piece of paper two things they would / could do for someone - that doesn’t cost any money… things like clean your room, fix you breakfast in bed, do your chores for a week, chauffeur you for an evening etc.
3. Decide the times that you want to play the game during the weekend.
4. Decide who gets to pick first - each person then can pick a game - you will then play the game for an hour - the winner at the end of the hour gets a $10 chip, 2nd a $5 chip, 3rd a $1 chip. Then the next person gets to pick a game - for an hour and so forth.
5. At the end of the tournament place the prices in a hat. Take them out one at a time. With the winnings they have everyone can bid on the prizes. The highest bid wins. One rule is that you can’t bid on a prize that you created.

Corn Hole - Fun without breaking the bank

The game of corn hole is a lot of fun and if you haven’t seen it or have any idea of what I’m talking about, you can find some details here.

You could also have a good time painting the project once you get it finished. It will take a little more than $25 but it is a project that once finished should last for years.

Having Fun without spending (much money)- Capture the Flag with water

Happy Friday to you.

Every Friday we hope to post a way for you to have fun without spending a ton of money.

Todays fun tip is all about water and capturing the flag.

Things you’ll need…

1. 2 wading pools (the cheap ones) you can find these for $6 or less at your local big retailer.
2. Water balloons or squirt guns or both. Again these you can find for less than 10 bucks - take a trip to the dollar store and just get the cheap water guns.
3. The ‘flag’ (2) - this can be an old mop / broom etc.

Choose sides.
Get on opposite sides of the yard (or better yet your house).
Fill up the weapons and the pools. Each side places there pool somewhere within their ‘territory’.
One person must always be holding the flag and in the pool. This person can use water balloons or water guns but must stay in the pool and hold the flag with their ‘good’ hand. (If they’re a righty, in their right hand, lefty they must hold it with their left)
Try to capture the other flag. If you get hit with water .. you are out and must stop, freeze in place and count to 20 (slowly).
If the flag guardian gets hit they must drop the flag.
The person that captures a flag cannot run (they must walk slowly) and cannot fire a weapon.
The first team with both flags in their pool wins.

You can play this game with 4 people but the more people you have the more interesting it is. If you have an odd person then let that person be the referee and they get to kick someone off the loosing team and join them for the next game.
